Parejo's top flight brace against Mallorca
Holding six goals and two assists to his name, Dani Parejo has been highly influential on Valencia CF's play so far this season. On the horizon for the club captain is a meeting with RCD Mallorca, against whom he scored a brace earlier in the 2019/20 campaign.
Both of Parejo's goals came from the penalty spot, resulting from fouls on teammate Francis Coquelin. The first was sent to goalkeeper Manolo Reina's right, with the second a change of sides that also flew past the Mallorca shot stopper. His effectiveness from 12 yards earned Valencia CF the victory and the three points.

That brace was the most recent of three for the VCF midfielder, and his first since 2015. In November of that year, he gave his club a 1-2 lead away to Celta with a free kick, and then finished off a team move with his right foot.
His first double in front of goal had come that same year, on January 25th at Mestalla against Sevilla FC. A penalty and a shot from open play on the counterattack provided Parejo with his goals and Valencia CF with a 3-1 triumph.
